What We’ll Visit:

A unique monument of Imperial Rome. You’ll learn about:

• The intricacies of the spectacles held here.

• The lives of gladiators.

• The construction and architecture of the amphitheater.

• How the Colosseum was used over the centuries, sometimes in unintended ways.

• 🏔️ Palatine Hill

One of Rome’s seven hills and the birthplace of the city.

• See excavations of the first settlements on the hill.

• Discover how Augustus built his house here in the 1st century BC, starting a tradition that later emperors continued.

• The very word “Palace” (Palace, Palazzo) comes from the hill’s name, Palatio.

• Explore the interior decoration of the palaces located here.

• 🏟️ Roman Forum

The heart of the ancient city, where you’ll find:

• The Roman Senate building.

• Outlines of ancient basilicas.
