• How the Colosseum was used over the centuries, sometimes in unintended ways.
• 🏔️ Palatine Hill
One of Rome’s seven hills and the birthplace of the city.
• See excavations of the first settlements on the hill.
• Discover how Augustus built his house here in the 1st century BC, starting a tradition that later emperors continued.
• The very word “Palace” (Palace, Palazzo) comes from the hill’s name, Palatio.
• Explore the interior decoration of the palaces located here.
