The gastronomic tour of Rome is a pleasant walk through the most authentic streets of the city, visiting local shops, wine bars, and taverns. It’s a unique opportunity to discover the characteristics and history of Roman cuisine, immerse yourself in the city’s atmosphere, and delight your taste buds!

Of course, you can always go to a restaurant and enjoy delicious Italian dishes, but it’s much more exciting to stroll through the city, pop into different spots, and try delicacies on the spot. I’ll recommend restaurants for later!

Usually, during historical tours, I share information about how and what Italians eat. But on this tour, the main topic is FOOD, spiced up with stories and legends about Rome and the Romans.

What to Expect:

• 🍷 While enjoying slices of cured meats, delicious cheese, and a glass of wine in an old butcher shop, I’ll tell you about the history of Roman cuisine – what the emperors ate, what the common Romans preferred, and what is strictly avoided today.

• 🍕 Next, we’ll savor authentic pizza! You’ll learn who invented it, when it was created, how Roman pizza differs from Neapolitan, and why the queen of all pizzas is named Margarita.

• 🍝 Then, we’ll dive into the lively and cheerful district of Trastevere, where you’ll enjoy pasta with a glass of white or red wine.

I’ll explain:

• How to choose Italian wines.

• Which appetizers pair best with specific wines.

• Which dishes you absolutely must try in Rome.

• Where to find the best coffee, what an Italian aperitif is, and where locals eat.

• And, of course, we’ll solve the mystery of how Italians eat so much and stay slim!

• 🍨 Finally, you’ll taste the most delicious gelato.
